Roofs cover large areas of your building and there are many ways you can utilise this space to make it work more effectively as part of the overall building. Flat roofs in compact urban and rural environments that have safe access make great outdoor spaces, and can be easily turned into gardens or deck areas for you to relax and socialise in, and can also bring some color and greenery to your building.

If you live in a sunny climate then you can save money on cooling costs by investing in some reflective panels for your roof space, which will work to prevent solar heat from warming up your home and reduce air conditioning costs.

Perhaps the best way to utilise your roof space if you live in a warm environment is to install a solar heating system. Solar heating panels are growing more and more efficient and reliable every year, and a typical photovoltaic system can generate enough power to provide all of the hot water for your home, from heating through to washing.
