When it comes to home furnishings this autumn textures and bold colours are big news, so think about all of those sumptuous fabrics available from silks through to rich velvets, and materials such as luxurious flocked wallpaper and chunky natural wood furniture.

These bold textures suit the dramatic colour palette for the ideal autumn home, which ranges from vibrant blues and greens through to deep purples and rich reds and oranges, and home owners can either dip conservatively from this palette with a scattering of bright cushions and throws, or delve in deep and cover the living areas of there homes with one of the richest, most decadent looks in recent years.

The rich textured materials of the autumn style range do not come cheap however, with velvet and silks among some of the more expensive fabrics on offer, so create small areas of interest by just scattering a few sumptuous cushions across your couch, or by covering just one wall of the room in flocked wallpaper.

Setting up Basic Home Gyms

If you are thinking about building up your own home gym, then think carefully about what sort training you want to do, and what your fitness goals are. Home gyms can provide a wide range of both upper and lower exercises, but if you just want to improve your muscle tone and strength (and burn calories), then a basic free weight station is all you really need to get started.

Choose a good quality adjustable weight bench and basic dumbbell/barbell set, which should ideally consist of a pair of 3-5lbs weights for shoulder and ab work, 5-8lbs weight for arm and chest work and an 8lb+ weight for legs, glutes and back.

This is an affordable and compact way to start your home gym, and if you find that working out at home suits you then you can easily add more equipment in the future such as resistance bands and weights towers.
